Making bibliographies work

If you teach a subject that requires research essays, one of the hardest things to get through your students’ heads is just how to make a bibliography. To make it worse, if you’re like me you prefer one style of referencing (the Chicago/Turabian style) and if you’re like our English teacher across the hall, you prefer another (the MLA).

At last the Internet comes to the rescue. Ottobib allows you to type in the ISBN numbers found on every book, and it will generate the bibliographic entry for that title. Pretty cool and very useful.

That’s cool. Unfortunately it doesn’t do the style that I require my students to use. :(

    What style do you use?
