Since, some people claim, every teacher needs a website to communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, there has to be a simple way set one up. Well, there is. It’s called a blog and it’s so simple it’s nearly idiot proof.
Probably the most common free place to post is, of course, Blogger. It’s big, it’s well known, and if you want people to find your blog fast and gain a lot of visitors, this is probably the place to set yourself up.
However, if you still want a great, free, and highly adaptable blog with lots of features (such as adding your own domain name for a few extra bucks) you should try WordPress.com. WordPress.com runs WordPress blogging software which is nice stuff, and is, in fact, the backbone to my Befuddled blog.
Maybe, however, you say you can’t work your way around all those cool features that Blogger and WordPress give you. There is still hope. Try Tumblr. It’s a fairly cool little site that is meant to be really easy so your blogging isn’t fancy bit fast and dirty. It’s possible to have a domain even with a free and very simple site like Tumblr, and they don’t charge anything for the privilege (though you still pay for the domain when you register it).
If you need to get info up on the Net for your students or others, it doesn’t have to be difficult. Try blogging it.

I can vouch for Wordpress, too. I’ve used both and find wordpress to be far easier to use and the site is more reliable than Blogger. Blogger is too big and busy and I’ve lost many posts due to the site not responding. Also, Wordpress has the ability to categorize your posts, something that Blogger is only sort of supporting now, through tagging. Wordpress all the way!
