Is this how class should be run?

I’m not sure if this is a good way or a bad way to run a class, but it’s sure interesting. If you gave kids the opportunity to watch lectures on their own time, and then followed up with reinforcement activities like labs, discussions, or other activities, the learning would really increase.

Of course, somehow this school has increased the school day without anyone complaining and probably increased teachers’ workload, too (at least initially). It’s interesting how motivated everyone seems to be by the whole effort.

Could it be duplicated? Most administrators I’ve seen are reluctant to put anything up on the Internet without vetting it first, and the system resources you’d need would be significant. Even so, it’s a model worth thinking about.
