After writing about Twitter yesterday, I stumbled across this article about how one university prof uses Twitter in education. My principal likes to say “it’s all about the relationships” and that seems to be what this university prof is saying. I don’t think I did justice to that part of Twitter in my blog post yesterday, so in fairness, this article presents another side of the story.

That was going to be my comment on your previous post. The quick staying in touch with people is a nice feature of Twitter. Although I might not care about your breakfast burrito, I might be interested if you’re sick or if you sold your house or something else like that. I have a friend who is out of town a fair bit and I get an idea of what he does because of Twitter. I’ve actually gotten to know him better, 140 characters at a time.
As a follow-up, I’m toying with making a separate Twitter account for my “professor” persona, one that’s meant for students to subscribe to, if they want.
