One of the questions that always comes up in my history classes is “How much is that in today’s money?” If you find out that a bridge cost a million dollars to build in 1950, how much would that have cost today?

This neat little tool allows you to convert any amount of money from 1914 onwards into today’s dollars. It doesn’t cover issues like uneven rates of inflation or even countries other than Canada, but if you’re working in Canadian history, this is a nifty little site.
