Finding Prime Numbers and Playing with Factors

Prime numbers were something I always found fascinating when I was in elementary school. The hard part, of course, is taking really big numbers and trying to figure out if they’re prime or not. For those of you math teachers who like to play with numbers but might not be ready to factor really big numbers, the Prime Number Checker is just for you. It can readily factor 10 digit numbers into their primes, which, you have to admit, is probably more than you or I could do in a second or two. It’s fun, and probably ultimately useless, but for stirring up a fascination with numbers, this is a great tool.
